Conference Opened by Brian Carrier and Vietse Venema

DFRWS2009 is officially underway, as today's programme was kicked off by Brian Carrier and Vietse Venema.

Dr Venema presented statistics for the number of papers submitted (40), withdrawn (1) and accepted for publication (15).

A review panel of 44 people refereed papers for the conference.

Particular mention was made of the fact that there were no submissions this year in the legal field.

forensic-validation.com was launched today at the Digital Forensic Research Workshop conference in Montreal, Canada.

forensic-validation.com is a sponsor of the event.

From today, customers are able to register with forensic-validation.com for free to obtain access to special reports and Key Alerts containing important information for computer forensic analysts.

Testing is underway on EnCase v6 from Guidance Software and FTK v2.2 from AccessData.  In the near future, registered users will be able to obtain access to detailed and rigorous test reports on a subscription basis.

forensic-validation.com is a sister company to Elementary Solutions Ltd.  Both are based in Auckland New Zealand and owned by Daniel Ayers, who is also presenting a paper at DFRWS this year.
